Features & Benefits

E2M0.7 & E2M1.5

Edwards' small EMs are extremely compact pumps with small dimensions and weight, as well as extremely low noise levels with only 42 dBA on the E2M0.7.

They are very popular amongst OEMs and end-users and have benefited from continuous product development pumps. Engineered with a positive-pressure oil lubrication system, they have effective lubrication and cooling under all conditions.

An alternative horizontal inlet port is available where vertical space is restricted.

E1M18, E2M18 & E2M28

Edwards' medium EM pumps are very popular amongst OEMs and end-users and have benefited from continuous product development pumps. Engineered with a positive-pressure oil lubrication system, they have effective lubrication and cooling under all conditions.

Continuous product development has kept these pumps updated and popular amongst customers.

E2M28 - small "industrial" pump

The E2M28 was designed as a small "industrial" pump rather than a large "scientific" pump.

It is fitted with a roller bearing on the shaft, while all competitor pumps use sleeve bearings which are less reliable under difficult operating conditions. It also uses a hardened sleeve to minimise wear and maximise life.

Condensable Vapours

Vapours condensing in pump oil leads to poor lubrication, increased wear of moving parts and loss of vacuum performance.

The EM is designed to run hot and has a two open position gas ballast valve to allow the highest gas ballast flowrates of any similar sized pump. The EM pump has great flexibility to operate on applications as a high-vacuum mode or as a high-throughput mode.

All two-stage pumps have to "compromise" the oil lubrication system to achieve good ultimate vacuum, but if the pump is operated at high inlet pressure or with high vapour loads, the high vacuum stage will suffer from oil starvation and high rates of condensation of vapours in the oil. Edwards unique "Mode Selector Switch", in combination with gas ballast position GB2, allows the pump to handle the highest vapour loads of any pump in its class without any wear or loss of lubrication.
